Technical SEO audit

This audit targets technical issues that often block indexing or unnecessarily weaken crawl and performance. It is useful when the site works but search results lag, or when after a migration, redesign or URL structure change you need to quickly verify that the technical foundation holds together.

An automated audit will not reveal the whole crawl budget, server logs or deeper information architecture problems. It does, however, surface the most common technical blockers that make content harder to index, redirect or read by machines.

When to reach for it

  • When the page does not get indexed or has suspiciously weak findability.
  • When you are migrating the site, changing URL structure or dealing with redirects.
  • When you want to separate technical problems from content and marketing ones.

What we check in the audit

HTTP and redirects

Status code, final URL and redirects.

Indexing signals

Canonical, robots meta and X-Robots-Tag.

Machine readability

Schema.org, `lang` and the correct Content-Type.

Performance and HTML size

Server response and a reasonable HTML document size.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my website not showing up on Google?

The most common causes are an active noindex, a broken redirect or a robots.txt block. The technical audit reveals exactly these problems within seconds, so you know where to start.

When should I run a technical SEO audit?

After a migration, redesign, domain change or URL restructuring. And any time search results do not match the quality of your website.

What is a canonical URL and why does it matter?

The canonical tells search engines which version of a page is the main one. Without it the same content can get indexed multiple times and the pages then compete with each other, weakening their positions.

Does the automated audit find every technical problem?

No. It cannot see server logs and it checks a single address, not the whole site. It does catch the most common technical blockers that cause the majority of indexing problems in practice.
